Welcome to Youth Work Tools. This site is intended to help
youth work staff and managers to meet the challenges of
modernising their services. The site and its tools are designed
to meet national standards and to aid youth services in meeting
OFSTED requirements.
Much of the site is built around a common curriculum that
can be shared by all involved. This common curriculum is
already in use by five different services in the North East
& Midlands and has been well received where inspections
have taken place. To see the curriculum click on the menu tab
above or email nicpearse@yahoo.co.uk
for copy.
You are currently at our (inn-ovation partners) website.
Youthworktools enables us to create an endless amount of
local youth services websites using pre-designed templates. In
turn, each local youth service (or other managing body) can
create similar template driven websites for each of their local
organisations. These websites provide a comprehensive marketing
and communications tool for meeting the needs of staff, users
and the wider public. They also provide an archive of
professional practice in the event of inspection.
All of these websites can be regularly and easily updated by
the staff themselves. All that is required is an internet
connected PC. If you can use a word processor and email, you
can use youthworktools!
Each organisation also has access to our toolbox through
their own website. The following tools are accessible from
there.
- An Annual Plan wizard: This is a
series of templates that enable you to create a simple annual
plan for your organisation.
A Daily Diary Tool: This enables you
to record details of all your curriculum activity.
The Curriculum Bank: Here you can
access and utilise curriculum session plans donated by youth
work staff from all of the participating services within the
scheme.
Your reports: Our tools prepare a
series of invaluable reports allowing you to see your
performance against the objectives chosen by yourself.
Quality Assessment: Here you can
assess your organisation against the current youth work
standards.
All of the above information is also assembled into a series
of reports for the managing body, so that it in turn can see an
overall picture of how it is performing against its targets and
objectives. Further, every curriculum session planned by
organisations in the same service is collated to provide the
public with access to (a constantly) current programme. All of
this is generated automatically and does not require
administrative support.
